The Brief

  • Tasked with orchestrating the 8th edition of the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF), our mission was to ensure maximum visibility, widespread participation, and a grand success of our very own IP event that was making a comeback after a covid induced hiatus of 3 years. Additionally, we aimed to attract film industry stalwarts and showcase spectacular world cinema to enrich the festival's cultural and cinematic offerings.

The Idea

  • A Big Splash Comeback Festival: Bringing one of the Film Industry’s most loved, iconic Film Festivals back to become a bigger, brighter platform being the cradle of meaningful cinema that helps bridge budding talent with seasoned filmmakers.
  • Increased Contest Prizes: Expanding the categories for the prize money, recognition and platform to beyond the Short Film Competition to include Best Documentary, Best Feature Film, Best Director and a Lifetime Achievement Award
  • To enable the brand and platform to Inspire diverse storytellers and engage audiences, and to serve as a platform for community building, fostering connections and dialogue through the power of cinema.

The Action

  • Four-Day Film Festival: Uniting diverse audiences to celebrate impactful cinema.
  • Gathering of Film Personalities: A convergence of renowned filmmakers and storytellers from across the nation in the Northeast.
  • Filmmaking Workshops: Empowering and encouraging regional youth through comprehensive training conducted in association with the Brahmaputra Foundation and FTII, Pune.
  • 360-Degree Marketing Campaign: Leveraging Print, Outdoor, TV, Radio, Digital, PR, and Influencer Marketing for extensive community engagement.

The Impact

  • Massive Turnout: Over 200 film entries received, culminating in 31 selected for screening, featuring diverse stories in 10 languages from India and beyond.
  • Premieres and Events: 7 world premieres, alongside enriching masterclasses, workshops, panel discussions, and Amazon Prime Pitch Sessions.
  • Celebrity Presence: A star-studded affair with 20+ celebrities including Prakash Jha, Krishna D.K, Suman Kumar, Adil Hussaim, and many more.
  • Footfall: Witnessing an impressive 22,000 attendees over four exhilarating days.
